We have a Health Visitor who looks after our practice patients from Katie Road Health Centre. She is available on Monday 1:30 – 3:30 and Thursday 8:30 – 11:30. No appointment is necessary.
All babies are required to have a check up at 6 weeks. There are 2 parts to the check up and the Health Visitor is responsible for the first part and the GP for the second. We write to patients to see the Health Visitor at 6 weeks and then make an appointment to see one of our GP’s for the second part of the check up (within a week of the first) and we also to book for a post natal check for mum at the same time.
We provide a full range of childhood immunisations and we run our own scheduling system and write out the parents to remind that a immunisation is due. We do expect parents to communicate any concerns they have about immunisations so that you can discuss and make an informed decision about getting your child immunised.
For further information on the current Childhood Immunisation Schedule please go to the NHS Choices website.
