Repeat Prescriptions are available on a 24 hour basis and these can be requested in the following ways:
- by posting your request to us
- by filling out a repeat request form at reception
- by ordering online via your BSOL App (you will need to sign up to these digital services)
Please allow 24 hours before arranging collection.
We regret the Practice is unable to accept telephone requests for medication due to the high potential risk of a transcription error.
Contraceptive pill repeat prescriptions will require a telephone appointment with our Practice Nurse – these can be booked online or via reception. To start a contraceptive pill you will need to discuss this with a GP.
Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
We process most prescriptions electronically – this saves you having to collect a signed prescription from us to then take it to your pharmacy. You should let us know your nominated pharmacy to make the system as smooth as possible for you, this will mean that any prescription that is issued to you will automatically be sent to your nominated pharmacy where they will prepare your medication ready for collection.
We are upgrading to the next phase of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) which will mean that almost all our prescriptions will be processed electronically from 7th September 2020.
You can read more about EPS on the NHS website
Electronic prescriptions help save the NHS money.
Over the Counter Medication can be purchased for many common aliments and illnesses. You may be informed by our Reception Team or by the GP that some medicines are no longer given on prescription and that you should buy these over the counter. The attached leaflet will give you more information about this – Over the Counter Medication Leaflet. If you have any concerns with regards to how this may change your prescriptions this information letter may be useful – Patient Information – Over The Counter Medications
If you have a low income you may be able to get help with NHS costs, click here for more information and to complete a HC1 form to apply.
